Meet the author Dr Jason Monaghan at afternoon tea in Cafe St James. Author Jason Monaghan talks about his book 'Glint of Light on Broken Glass. Jason may be a familiar name as Director of Guernsey Museum, but he also has a long track record as a writer of both fiction and non-fiction. His first six novels were mysteries set in the world of archaeology, but 'Glint...' is his first historical novel. Set in Guernsey during 1913 - 1919 it covers a period of the island's history rarely explored in fiction, capturing the life and language of the islanders and the impact of the Great War. Pre-booked tickets £12.50 to include afternoon tea, from St James Box Office only. Attendance must be confirmed in advance of the event.

The Guernsey Photographic Club celebrate St James Bicentenary with a competition and exhibition preview in Cafe St James. The work, which will be judged for this special event by photographer and Guernsey Press journalist Mark Windsor. This is an opportunity to see St James from a different 'camera' angle and in a different 'light' - you may even get to see parts of the building that you did not know existed.
