JEAN, DUC DE BERRY, PATRON AND CONNOISSEUR
Lecturer: Sally Dormer

Jean, Duc de Berry (1360-1416), a younger brother of Charles V, was one of the foremost patrons of the late Middle Ages, commissioning manuscripts, reliquaries, altarpieces and pieces of jewellery. The lecture will explore his links to the foremost craftsmen of his day.

Sally is a Lecturer and Tutor for the Early Medieval Year Course at the V&A as well as Dean of ‘European Studies’ for two US Universities. She holds a BA in History as well as a PhD and MA from the Courtauld Institute.

The Arts Society Guernsey holds its lectures at Les Cotils, St Peter Port. Doors open at 6pm and the lecture is from 7pm to 8pm.

Entrance is free to members; non-members will be admitted upon payment of £15 at the door, if space permits.
