Discover the nature of these extraordinarily named characters in this talk about William Hogarth’s Marriage a la Mode series from the National Gallery in London. We will familiarise ourselves with these amazing characters and their stories. We will compare the painted and the printed versions of the series and observe and analyse the artist’s use of pictures within the pictures hanging on the walls within the picture space and discuss their meanings.
Marc Woodhead is the current the artist-in-residence on the Guernsey College of Further Education International Artist in Residence Programme based at Delancey Campus.
