Welcome to 2010

Happy New Year from all of us at the Guernsey Arts Commission.  We hope you had an enjoyable festive period and are already making the most of the new year.  And what a busy year it is shaping up to be!

Throughout January, The Plinth Project, featuring creative contemporary solutions for the empty Plinth outside HMV by 2nd year Art and Design Students, continues in the greenhouse and is open for your enjoyment between 09:00 – 17:00 weekdays.

If you’re interested in a career in the Arts, then pop along and see us at the Careers Convention on 6th and 7th January at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre in the Sir John Loveridge Hall and Concourse.

We have another exciting event coming to us live from the National Theatre with Nation, an adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s popular novel of the same name, on Saturday 30th January from 1.45 at the Princess Royal Centre for the Performing Arts.  Tickets for this event are available online from www.guernseytickets.gg from the box office at the Performing Arts Centre 719999 or from Beau Sej0ur, the Guernsey Information Centre or Candie Museum.

If your New Year’s Resolution if to be more creative, or you want an afternoon of fun to beat the winter blues then the Lihou Winter Arts Festival is for you!  Come along for a fun, freezing family day on the island of Lihou.  Meet with those who Create and join in with a range of arts activities.  You will need to wrap up warm and be prepared to make the 20 minute crossing of the Causeway on foot.  Meet at 11.15 at the Proserity Car Park on Sunday 31st January .  The event is free and for more information contact Laura Simpson on 749262 or [email protected]
