I’m very passionate about props, having been brought up on films such as Labyrinth, Dark Crystal and the Neverending Story, I think that the art of prop making is essential for creating worlds through the medium of films.
For me, prop making is about illusion; making the fantastical seem a reality. Aside from my props, I like to create characters, usually circus themed, whose stories are up to interpretation. Circus is a regular theme within my art because as a person who often struggles to put my thoughts and feelings into words, it’s the perfect representation of illusion and the idea of masking.
As well as continuing to create my personal art, I hope to start working as a prop maker for films and theatre, as I am about to begin my second year of studying Technical Art for Theatre and Screen at UAL Wimbledon College of Arts.
