1. Overview
We collect some personal information when you use this website — for example when you contact us, sign up to our newsletter, or when we measure how the site is used. We only use that information for the reasons explained below.
We do not sell your personal data.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
Contact forms — details you submit (typically name, email, phone number, and your message). Fields may vary depending on the form.
Newsletter — your email address when you subscribe via the signup form in the site footer.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, we and our service providers may collect technical and usage information, such as:
IP address and general location (country/region)
Browser type, device type, and operating system
Pages viewed, links clicked, and time spent on the site
Referring website or search terms
This is usually collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 4).
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
Respond to enquiries and messages you send us
Send newsletters and updates you have asked to receive (you can unsubscribe at any time)
Run, secure, and improve the website
Understand how visitors use the site (analytics)
Meet legal or regulatory obligations where they apply
We process your data where we have your consent (for example newsletter signup or non-essential cookies, where required), where it is necessary to respond to you or provide a service you have requested, or where we have a legitimate interest in operating and improving the website (such as basic analytics and security), provided that interest is not overridden by your rights.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
This site uses cookies and similar tools. Some are essential for the site to work; others help us understand usage or support marketing measurement.
Analytics and measurement (production site only)
Google Analytics (via Google tag / gtag.js)
Google Tag Manager
Meta (Facebook) Pixel — for measuring visits and ad performance
These services may set cookies and collect usage data. They are not loaded on our development/staging environments.
Other third-party content
Embedded videos (for example Vimeo), social feeds, maps, or other embedded content may set their own cookies when you interact with them.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Where we use a cookie consent tool, you can also manage non-essential cookies through that banner. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
5. Who we share information with
We use trusted suppliers to run the website. They process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service. These include:
Website hosting and infrastructure — Microsoft Azure and related Umbraco Cloud services.
Contact forms — Umbraco Forms (data stored and processed as part of our website platform).
Newsletter — Campaign Monitor (CreateSend).
Email delivery (for example form notifications) — Mailchimp Transactional (Mandrill).
Analytics and tags — Google (Analytics, Tag Manager) and Meta (Facebook Pixel).
Fonts — MyFonts (webfont licensing and metrics).
Icons — Font Awesome.
Instagram feed widget — Elfsight.
Content delivery (scripts and assets) — jsDelivr and other CDNs as referenced on the site.
Embedded media — Vimeo and other platforms where content is embedded on the site.
Some of these providers are based outside Guernsey and the UK (including the United States). Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards where required by law (such as standard contractual clauses or the provider’s compliance programme).
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
6. How long we keep information
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected:
Enquiries — for a reasonable period after we have dealt with your message, unless we need to keep it longer for legal or operational reasons.
Newsletter — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details.
Analytics — typically in aggregated form according to each provider’s retention settings.
When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it where practicable.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Your rights
Depending on applicable law (including UK GDPR where it applies to you), you may have the right to:
Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your data in certain circumstances
Restrict or object to certain processing
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
Complain to a data protection regulator
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@arts.gg. We will respond within one month where the law requires it.
If you receive marketing emails from us, you can unsubscribe using the link in those emails.
9. Links to other websites
Our site may link to other organisations’ websites (for example venues, partners, or social media). We are not responsible for their privacy practices — please read their policies.
10. Children
This website is not aimed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. We encourage you to check this page occasionally.
If a change materially affects how we use your data and we need your consent again, we will ask for it where required.
