Les Genats By Antonia Ramsey

Me, Chris and Lottie joined the rest of the arts team on Tuesday night for Outreach at Les Genats. We set up an arts and crafts area outside the bus and lots of kids and teenagers came and joined us

Were making some floaty jellyfish and the kids also made a card….

..as it was Pete’s last week at Les Genats! Here he is modelling a crazy jellyfish as a hat!

While some kids did the crafty activities we gave the cameras to some of the teenagers and asked them to take photos of what they thought represented Guernsey and more specifically their home. We got more than 400 photos, but here are just a few…

It was really hard to choose what shots to post up here, there were a wide variety of interesting and beautiful photos. There were lots of photos of flowers and the nature in the estate and lots of close-ups of parts of Les Genats that go unnoticed. I was so impressed how many fantastic photos were taken in such a short space of time! The chalk drawing were one of my favourite parts of the night, we were on the floor being drawn round and I got very chalky! At the end of the night it looked as if it was the scene of a mass murder!!

Towards the end we had a basketball match, boys against girls and Chris thought he was going to win easily but guess what… The girls won! What a great end to a fantastic day.

Chris says:

I am so up for a re-match, best out of three is the rules from my home town so I look forward to next summer and i am so going to get practicing!!

I also just wanted to thank everybody for getting so involved with the project and working with myself and Antonia, the paparatzii were out in fore and there are some budding photographers down on Les Genats so watch this space Guernsey..
