Mishal Husain is a respected and widely recognised figure, formerly a Radio 4 Today presenter and BBC TV newsreader, and now Editor-at-Large for Bloomberg, as well as host of podcast The Mishal Husain Show.
Inspired by the fragment of an old sari worn by her grandmother at her wedding, Mishal’s acclaimed memoir Broken Threads takes us on a personal journey through her family’s letters and diaries. Through a patchwork of hurried departures, lucky escapes and homes never seen again, she weaves a story of a generation shaped by the Raj, a world war, independence and partition.
Chaired by Sarah Montague.
