Guernsey Street Festival Open Day at the Rocquettes

The Guernsey Street Festival in association with Guernsey Arts is holding an Open Afternoon in the Johnson Suite at Les Rocquettes Hotel Sunday 12th February 2-4pm.

There'll be stalls where you can learn all about how to perform well, the legalities of busking, and any electrical equipment you may need. Or if you simply wish to volunteer or get involved another way, we'll be on hand to tell you how.

WHO WILL BE THERE?

Guernsey Street Festival:
Meet our Founder Claire Dawson, and learn about how you can get involved with the festival this year by performing or volunteering.

Guernsey Arts:
Meet the team at Guernsey Arts and find about how you can get involved with events and how to apply for a busking license.

Equipment booth:
Mark Guillou - Guernsey stalwart, teacher and technician - will be helping performers understand what gear you need and how to use it. Tips on different levels for different spaces and adjusting your levels.

Performance health and legal rights booth:
Lydia Pugh - professional musician, vocal coach and award-winning composer - will be giving advice on how to stay safe as a performer, whether legally or with your health. She will cover topics such as unions, vocal health, copyright, your worth as a performer and much more.

Stage presence booth:
Dom Ogier - professional musician, frontwoman and seasoned performer - will be giving out tips and tricks on how to capture your audience and build confidence on stage.

Open Mic booth:
Rachel Dawson - up-and-coming singer songwriter - will be showing you how its done and providing the opportunity to have a go yourself, with the option to audition for this year’s festival.
