The Friends of Guernsey Music Centre present an evening of jazz and popular classics performed by the Training Jazz Orchestra directed by Katie Gough and the Youth Jazz Orchestra directed by Liz Green.
The Training Jazz Orchestra will start the evening and will be performing popular classics including ‘Shake Rattle and Roll’ by Bill Haley and the Comets, ‘Don’t Stop Believin’’ by Journey and ‘You Belong With Me’ by Taylor Swift.
This will be followed by the debut performance of the ‘Coco’ electric string quartet, who will be performing some well-known classics.
The evening will also include a performance by the Friends of Guernsey Music Centre choir, the Wright Notes who will be performing Antonio Carlos Jobim’s ‘Girl from Ipanema’, along with Toto’s ‘Africa’ and ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ by Queen.
The Youth Jazz Orchestra will conclude the evening’s entertainment with music including the Nina Simone classic ‘Feeling Good’, ‘The Bare Necessities’ from the film The Jungle Book and the jazz standard ‘Mas Que Nada’.
