Presenting a launch event for ‘Latvians in Guernsey’, by local author Lilita Kruze - now translated into English.
The book features numerous interviews with Latvian people living in Guernsey, charting their reasons for moving to the island, the challenge of settling into a new home and new way of life, and their experiences of life in the community.
At this launch event, hear Lilita explain why she decided to write the book and what she discovered in talking to her fellow country people. She will also answer questions from the audience and do a book signing at the end of the talk.
Lilita Kruze has lived in Guernsey since 2001. She is one of the founders of the Guernsey Latvian Association, has been Honorary Consul of Latvia in Guernsey since 2015, and is a prominent champion for the interests of the Latvian community on the island.
This event will be presented in both English and Latvian, making it accessible to all.
This event is free but please make sure to register your place.
