For this session, Gyokubai Studio is very excited to invite Mayuno from Japan who is associate Professor of Urasenke Japanese Tea ceremony! She is going to serve Japanese Macha tea during the workshop and will give a little talk too.
In this beginner-friendly session, you will:
- Learn where Kanji comes from and how it’s used today
- Try the essential tools of Shodo — each person will have their own brush and ink set
- Practise basic brush strokes
- Create your own piece to take home
All high-quality materials are provided, imported directly from Japan:
- Traditional Shodo brushes
- Japanese sumi ink
- Fine calligraphy paper
