The Guernsey Arts Commission is delighted to announce the appointment of the new Community Arts Officer. Marie-Claire Belford has taken over from Laura Simpson and started with the Commission on 18th January.
Originally from the UK, Marie-Claire studied Music, Drama and Dance at Birmingham University as well as Informal & Community Education. She has a background in youth arts having worked as Youth Arts Development Worker in Warwickshire for a number of years.
Marie-Claire is delighted to be working with the Commission and the opportunity to work with the community of Guernsey “I’m now looking forward to getting out and meeting all kinds of community groups and hopefully support a wide variety of arts projects. This will begin with taking over the great work Jo Morrissey, Arts Development Officer has already started with the Arts Mobile out on the Genat Estate.”
Marie-Claire will spend some time getting to know the work of the Commission and then will be straight into projects which will stamp her creative mark on the people of Guernsey.
If you would like to discuss working on a community project with Marie-Claire or would like to volunteer with the Guernsey Arts Commission, please email Marie-Claire or call 739747.
