The Guernsey Literary Festival have launched its annual WriteStuff writing competition for students in the Bailiwick of Guernsey!
The challenge is to write a 300-word story on the theme “The Letter.” There are exciting prizes to win, including cash awards and bespoke illustrations by local artist Tim Gaudion.
This year’s judges are:
• Jarvis – Primary judge (Years 3–6), award-winning children’s author and illustrator of Mrs Mole, I’m Home! and Alan’s Big, Scary Teeth
• Lauren Child – Intermediate judge (Years 7–9), creator of Charlie and Lola and former Children’s Laureate
• Nathanael Lessore – Senior judge (Years 10+), award-winning YA author including Steady For This
• Huw Lewis-Jones – Judge for all ALN categories, local author and Antarctic explorer
Entries close on Friday, 6 March 2026.
