The Vale Earthlings' Ball

The first Vale Earth Fair was held in 1976 as a charitable event and this has continued for 50 years supporting both international and local charities, including The Burma Campaign UK, the Linda Norgrove Foundation, and Safer (LBG).

Continuing the celebrations this year The Vale Earth Fair Collective in partnership with St James bring to you The Vale Earthlings’ Ball. Not only will we there be super stellar music but also an opportunity to own a piece of Earth Fair history as we auction off the extraterrestrial creations that are part of The Alien Trail that can be found around the island. We can’t wait to see you for at our cosmic celebration.

HENGE

Straight from outer space to Guernsey, HENGE are bringing you music from distant planets. These extra-terrestrial joymongers have been delighting audiences in the UK and Europe since they landed on Planet Earth ten years ago. Their scintillating live performances earned them ‘Best Live Act’ at the Independent Festival Awards and they have since cemented their reputation with four acclaimed albums, numerous tours and regular main-stage festival appearances.

Their music escapes definition, but occupies a space between rave and prog rock that nobody knew existed. It is energetic, subversive and invigoratingly playful, jovially going ‘where no one has gone before’. Ultimately, HENGE are spreading a message of hope which leaves audiences feeling amused and uplifted in equal measures.

YAS

Yas is a five-piece Moroccan fusion band that brings together the hypnotic rhythms of Gnawa with the energy and groove of Western musical traditions. Rooted in the driving pulse of West African and North African rhythms, their sound blends funk, blues, rock and subtle dance influences into a vibrant, contemporary musical journey.

At the heart of Yas is the rich Gnawa tradition of call-and-response vocals in Arabic, interwoven with soaring melodies, infectious grooves and deep, trance-like rhythms. Drawing on centuries-old musical heritage while embracing modern influences, the band creates performances that are both uplifting and immersive, inviting audiences to move, connect and celebrate across cultures.
