Subs Not Dubs returns to Mallard Cinema on Thursday 25 June 2026 with a screening of The Last Viking (2025), the latest dark comedy film from Thomas Anders Jensen starring Mads Mikkelsen.
The film follows a recently released prisoner as he plans to recover stolen loot that his brother, Manfred (Mikkelsen), buried in the woods. However, when Manfred can't remember the exact location, they set out on an increasingly chaotic and emotional journey to find it.
The Hollywood Reporter calls The Last Viking “...consistently entertaining, weird and ultimately touching” and notes that “Its humane message is potent even though it comes in the offbeat package of this gleeful, violent but entirely successful dark comedy.”
Wynter Tyson, founder of Subs Not Dubs, said “Jensen’s Riders of Justice is one of the most accomplished comedies that I’ve screened in almost ten years of showing films, combined with the presence of regular collaborators such as Mads Mikkelsen, and The Last Viking promises to be another off-beat gem and film best experienced with a crowd.”
