STOP what you're doing
DROP everything and
READ for 15 minutes
Join us at midday on World Book Day for this island-wide reading event!
At midday on Thursday 5 March, you’re invited to ‘drop everything’ and read for 15 minutes.
It’s a chance for the whole island to pause for a few moments and enjoy reading together.
There are no rules about ‘what counts’. It could be a book, magazine, graphic novel, audiobook, newspaper – just find something you want to read and take some time to enjoy it.
Stop, Drop & Read is part of Guernsey’s National Year of Reading, inspiring people of all ages to rediscover the joy of reading in 2026.
How to Get Involved:
- Set aside 15 minutes at 12pm on Thurs 5 March
- Read something you enjoy
- If you like, help spread the word by sharing photos or messages on the day#StopDropReadGSY
