Gilbert & Sullivan comes to Guernsey

Five professional singers from the National Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company will perform a selection of well known songs from the best loved Gilbert & Sullivan operas, such as The Mikado, Pirates of Penzance, HMS Pinafore, Patience, The Gondoliers, Iolanthe, and The Yeomen of the Guard to piano accompaniment. The important role of Narrator will be performed by Simon Butteriss, who has more than 40 years experience of singing In Gilbert & Sullivan operas and of interpreting the texts for modern audiences – no mean task! This will appeal to both life long G & S fans and to a younger audience who will find the satirical libretto surprisingly relevant to the modern age. And we guarantee that you will go away humming some if not all of the tunes!
