Street smart Chicago teenager Ren McCormack arrives in the backwater southern town of Bomont, to find a community dominated by local preacher Reverend Shaw, a man who believes that teenage freedom is a recipe for disaster, and whose own personal tragedy has blinded him to the joys of life. To control his town, Shaw has banned popular music and dancing, seeing their influence as evil. It is this law which Ren, inspired by his new found friends and Shaw’s headstrong daughter Ariel, seeks to challenge. Will they be able to return joy and dance to its proper place in the community? This is a battle for the life and soul of the town.
Featuring the classic hits ‘Holding Out For A Hero,’ ‘Let’s Hear It For The Boy,’ ‘Almost Paradise,’ ‘The Girl Gets Around’ and the immortal foot stomper ‘Footloose,’ this is a show that will make you want to jump up and dance with the cast in the aisles. Early booking is essential, ‘cos tonight everyone’s gonna cut, FOOTLOOSE!
