'Discoveries from The Shrouded Isles of Sarnia' is a narrative surrounding new Island Folklore. James has developed a new mythology of magical creatures, a set of which he has built practically as lifesized puppets.
The creature skekSalt has voyaged far to uncover the mysteries of the rumoured hidden realm, Sarnia. This realm, if the stories are true, exists right on top of Guernsey, on a different plane of existence. Only those who find themselves adrift in the fog can slip beyond the veil into this realm of uncanny fantastical creatures.
James Kitts is a multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker from Cornwall, now living in Guernsey. In recent years James has focused on puppetry as an artistic medium which has presented him with many opportunities to perform with his creations. His most popular being skekSalt, a skeksis puppet/costume inspired by the 1982 film The Dark Crystal.
