This illustrated collection of lost tales of ancient Guernsey folklore transports you to an enchanted island, exploring the historical and cultural traditions behind the origin of each tale.
These original illustrations are from the newly released book, Once Upon an Island, written and illustrated by Penny Dawes.
The illustrations are a series of black ink fine liner work, mostly drawn in a stippling method. Meaning most of the illustrations are made up of thousands of tiny dots.
Several of the drawings feature property, land and artefacts cared for by The National Trust of Guernsey and Guernsey Museums.
This book has been published by Blue Ormer Publishing and is available for pre-order at www.blueormer.co.uk Once Upon an Island will also be available to buy at The Museum Christmas Shop and at the Blue Ormer Publishing stall at the Christmas Courtyard Market.
This whole project has kindly been Supported by Guernsey Arts.
