Winning and selected artworks will be exhibited at Jersey Arts Centre and The George Crossan Gallery Guernsey.
Each year sees a new judge, chosen from outside the Channel Islands for impartiality. This year’s Judge is Mary Kuper, artist, illustrator, and printmaker, whose work looks at the themes of language and poetry, people and places. Mary will also be hosting a workshop for Island students later in the year. (Mary Kuper - marykuper.com).
This year’s prizes total £2,000 and will be awarded to Channel Island-based artists who, in the opinion of the judge, have produced the most original work of art. This year’s prizes are £1,000 for the overall winner, £500 for the winner of the Jock Russell Award for 12 to 18 year olds and 5 prizes of £100 for 5 highly commended artists.
The competition is open to artists who are resident in the Bailiwick of Jersey, Bailiwick of Guernsey and who are aged 12 and over. Entrants may submit up to two works. Entry costs just £5 for adults and £1 for students.
