Aaron Yeandle Chimera

Chimera is an anthropological, social and historical Photographic project, which delves into the unseen world of Guernsey’s community of make believe history and fantasy. Guernsey is steeped in a rich History of pride and allure. This Photographic project observes on how the past, present and the future can be brought to life, through imagination and fabrication. The project Chimera, glimpses into a world that is inhabited by all ages and vocational interests. Guernsey Glee Singers Concert

The Guernsey Glee Singers - Sing Sing Sing for 'The Tree of Jesse'. The concert, featuring special guests The Guernsey Music Centre Junior Choir, has a mixed programme with songs from the 'big screen', music by John Rutter and a couple of numbers guaranteed to get your feet tapping. Raising funds for The St Stephens Church William Morris Windows Restoration Campaign. Tickets on the door at St Stephens Church and parking by kind permission of Ladies College.

GYCT Little Theatre Company presents Duologues An event to celebrate bank holiday and the last night of The Guernsey Literary Festival.The event will take as its theme DUOLOGUES, where plots are developed through dialogue between two characters. Part of the evening is taken up with a rehearsed reading of the Victorian Farce Box and Cox. Please note earlier start time of 7:30. Lakin McCarthy in association with Take a Left Productions presents How to be Human - Ruby Wax, the Monk and the Neuroscientist St James, Wednesday 15th May, 8pm Ruby Wax invites you to use more of your mind for compassion, instead of just chasing what’s ‘better’, like a hamster on a wheel.With a little help from monk Gelong Thubten, who explains how the mind works, and neuroscientist Ash Ranpura, who explains where everything that makes us ‘us’ can be found in the brain, this is the show you need to help you upgrade your mind as much as you’ve upgraded your iPhone.

Acrylic Painting Demonstration

Visiting UK artist Jenny Aitken will be giving an acrylic painting demonstration at Sarnia Arts & Crafts Club's club night at 7pm on Wednesday 15th May at St Martins Community Centre. Non-members who have not attended a Sarnia Arts & Crafts club night before are welcome to attend Jenny's demonstration free of charge as a guest of the club. Japanese prints and drawings flooded into Europe when Japan opened its borders to the West in the mid 19th century. This influx of Eastern art influenced many Western artists, changing the course of art and design forever. This exhibition, in the whole museum, looks at these Eastern influences as well as the more surprising influences of Western art on Japan.
