This week sees the arrival of the Guernsey Literary Festival, which we are so proud to be a part of!
With it, we have welcomed many world class authors, speakers – even Charles Dickens and Victor Hugo have made appearances!
Alongside this great roster of events, we have welcomed The Reader Organisation who are a Liverpool based organisation whose goal is to bring about a reading revolution!
While on the island, the organisation have not only been delivery Ha’penny Readings to hundreds of young people in various venues in and around Guernsey, but they have also been bringing their work to Guernsey Arts Commission Community Arts sessions.
This week, they started by visiting Les Genats estate to work with several young people and Carl Symes captured some images for us of the evening (see below!). They then delivered to the young people that we work with at St Martins, and there were plenty more eager faces there to welcome them.
Many poems and stories later, I think we may have a few writers and performers on our hands!
