Guernsey Arts Commission Lantern Parade in conjunction with the Sarah Groves Foundation
We are thrilled to announce that we will be delivering a lantern parade on Saturday 14 March 2015 in conjunction with the Sarah Groves Foundation.
We are delighted to have The Sarah Groves Foundation supporting the parade in 2015, who have also agreed to support the event until 2017! With the SGF’s mission statement of ‘Enhancing Young Lives’, we feel SGF is perfect to work alongside the Guernsey Arts Commission to produce a fantastic experience for everyone.
Over the dark winter months we will be delivering a range of community lantern making workshops culminating in a celebratory parade just as we are about to enter spring.
We are also delighted to announce that we will be bringing back SPARK! a magical live music, movement and lighting spectacular in which five mysterious characters composed of light transform the landscape around them to lead the parade with a little added extra twist this year!
Lottie Barnes, Community Arts Development Manager, says:
“The Lantern Parade exceeded our expectations in 2014 and it really was a spectacle. Having the support of the Sarah Groves Foundation for the 2015 parade makes this event even more special and has a greater emphasis of the importance of communities coming together.”
Keep an eye on Guernsey Arts Commission social media early in the New Year for dates and locations of lantern making workshops and the route of the parade. If anyone would be interested in volunteering as a steward at the event please email [email protected]
