Summer exhibition and workshops in the greenhouse at Guernsey Information Centre
A summer exhibition by local artists, Frances Lemmon, Bridget Spinney and printmakers, Iris and Dora Designs, has re-opened the programme in the [email protected] following the main gallery’s move to Guernsey Museum. The show which runs until Friday 20th June depicts Guernsey scenes and life through prints and a variety of media.
Bridget Spinney is holding an ‘ink and wash’ drawing workshop on Saturday 14 June based on Guernsey rock pools. Bridget will guide participants through identifying, observing and drawing shells, rocks, seaweed and other objects, helping to discover interesting ways to describe the pattern and surface of these finds. Either take home the pictures or cut them out and add them to the rock pool picture in the gallery. Open to all ages on a drop in basis from 11am -3pm in the greenhouse at the Information Centre at a £5 cost. Families especially are welcome
Frances Lemmon will also be running a drawing workshop on Sunday 15 June looking at the waterfront using pencil, charcoal, pastel, chalk, pen and ink, graphite and sanguine. Concentrating on shape, form and tone, she will demystify the drawing process in a fun way. Suitable for all ages and abilities, please meet in the lobby of the Information Centre. Please bring any drawing equipment you may already have, a board to draw on and a collapsible chair; although there will be some spare. The drawing workshop on 15 June with Frances will run from 10am to 12noon, £18 per person. If the weather is inclement, the workshop will take place in the greenhouse and the Information Centre building.
