I’m very happy to say I’m Guernsey Arts Commissions new Arts Administrator! I’m roughly a month into the job and time has certainly flown by. I’ve been busy getting to know the GAC team and I’m definitely excited to be a part of this year’s Arts Sunday, taking place on Sunday 8th June.
I’ve also been working on the invite and poster designs for the latest exhibition at the greenhouse: A Proper Job? – An exhibition by Paul Staples, part of the Design Matters series. I don’t think I could have asked to join the GAC at a better time as this exhibition is right up my street! I was stunned to hear of all the people that Paul has worked with in the past… a favourite being Queen!
I’ve always had a passion for all things art and design, having studied it through school, college and then going onto university to study Graphic Communication in Cardiff. Since graduating in 2010, I’ve been a part of some great projects and have managed to work in various roles within art and design.
I moved to Guernsey from North Wales in December 2013 and it’s been a real privilege to be on the island and take in its beauty. Summer is going to be even more overwhelming I’m sure. I was slightly worried about leaving Wales behind but I’ve certainly fell in love with Guernsey and hope to be here for the long haul!
I look forward to meeting many people through the GAC and become involved in some inspiring future projects. I hope as Arts Administrator that if you have anything you’d like know from the GAC, that you know you can contact me and I’ll happily help as much as possible.
Here’s to an exciting 2014!
