Celebrating the power of the Arts

The Guild Gala Event

We urge you to ‘Reserve the Date’ of November 23rd 2013 for the Guernsey Arts Commission’s Guild Gala Event. The event is open to all, not just Guild members, and we can guarantee it will prove to be one of the most exciting evenings of the year, offering you a unique opportunity to enjoy some fine entertainment and to support one of Guernsey’s foremost charities.

The Guernsey Arts Commission is at the heart of the arts community and creative industries in Guernsey. Since our formation in 2008, we have:

  • Supported over 100 local and international artists, delivering exhibitions in our main gallery, the greenhouse, including such artists as Peter Blake, Andy Goldsworthy and Antony Gormley.
  • Established a Community Arts Team that, with our ArtsMobile, reaches hundreds of people each month on our estates, in care homes, and in children’s homes.
  • Funded hundreds of individuals and organisations to deliver small to large scale arts projects and events.
  • Created and delivered flagship arts events, such as the Guernsey Literary Festival and Arts Sunday, engaging the local population and attracting thousands of visitors to take part in the arts.

The Guernsey Arts Commission has been able to develop the arts strategically in Guernsey through public funding, corporate sponsorship and generous donations by philanthropic individuals.

Now, more than ever, we rely on the continuing support of our patrons to help us develop this work in taking Guernsey’s arts and cultural life to the next level. The creation of the Guernsey Arts Commission Guild Membership Scheme offers both existing and new supporters an opportunity to support our work.

‘Reserve the Date’ of November 23rd 2013 and make sure you attend this entertaining and, we are certain, enlightening evening.
