Laura Simpson joins the GAC as Community Arts Development Officer

Laura Simpson is the GAC’s newly appointed the Community Arts Development Officer. She sees her role as ensuring that there are opportunities for the island community to become involved in exciting creative experiences. Which can mean anything from a one off workshop to try out a new skill, to larger long-term programmes where groups can develop ideas, learn skills and work together to showcase their creativity.

“It doesn’t matter if you’ve never tried your hand at a creative activity before; it’s all about learning something new, meeting new people and above all having fun”, says Laura.

So if you would like to have a go, or work in an organisation that you think would enjoy something creative in their programme, please contact Laura and get involved!

Half term workshops: Laura will be running some half term arts workshops for kids – details to be posted shortly on this Blog or contact her for further info.
