The following job opportunity has arisen at the Guernsey Arts Commission:
Community Arts Officer
The Guernsey Arts Commission is looking for a self-motivated individual, preferably a graduate, with a commitment to continue the delivery of a community arts programme for the island. This programme has been devised to allow for greater participation in arts and cultural activities, in particular for those who are disaffected and disengaged.
Wide experience of working within a team, alongside volunteers, and government agencies is desirable. This post is a challenging developmental role which will require working closely with the already existing Arts Development Team at the Guernsey Information Centre. However, much of the work will be out of office and transport is provided by way of a recently acquired ArtsMobile.
How this role is delivered will be dependent on the skill set of the person engaged. Allocated funds from a Lloyds TSB Foundation grant mean this role is either a one-year full-time post spearheading the development of community arts, or a part-time two to three-year post (minimum of 16 hours per week) with an emphasis on coordinating delivery. In both cases it is envisaged the role will continue beyond the contracted period.
Job descriptions (part-time and full-time) and an application pack can be obtained from Lucienne De La Mare, HR Officer, Guernsey Information Centre, North Esplanade, St Peter Port, Guernsey, GY1 2LQ. Tel 739749
