GAC at the British Arts Festivals Association Conference 2012

The British Arts Festivals Association Conference 2012 is currently being held at the Southbank Centre in London, and this year Joanna Littlejohns, Head of Arts Development, is attending on behalf of the Guernsey Arts Commission.

As we are the host of the Art and Islands Conferences which has invited many speakers and artists at the front of their fields internationally, the issues raised during this BAFA Conference are ever important and will no doubt inform the development of such work that is being carried out in Guernsey.

With the festival theme ‘Capacity to Endure’, topics covered include social, economic and environmental sustainability within the festival context. As we all know, Guernsey is bursting at the seams with festivals; the knowledge garnered from this conference will hopefully encourage our festival culture to not only sustain itself, but continue to flourish fully!
