Creative Channel Islands: Photography Book

A publication by Ormerland

Creative Channel Islands: Photography explores the photographic creativity from 20 leading and upcoming Channel Island photographers. By showcasing a strong selection of unique images from each photographer’s portfolio, this book takes you on a journey through a huge variety of styles and visual expression.

Anyone who regularly and enthusiastically enjoys viewing or creating photography will find pleasure and inspiration in this book. The sheer variety of images on show is extraordinary. Over 200 unique images from 20 adroit Channel Island photographers.

Ormerland

Ormerland decided to create this book because as far as they were aware, there has been no collaborative printed showcase of local photographers presented in this way. There is a plethora of outstanding creative work in these Islands and so much of it can easily be missed. There are many great solo photographic books and others that focus on specific local scenes or periods of our history.

“We sought a book that first looked at the diversity of the photographers and then the unique body of work they are creating. A physical product that allows the stories behind the images’ space to communicate away from the glowing screen and onto a printed page.” Said Ross Weston, Editor

Creative Channel Islands: Photography is assembled in sections, photographer by photographer, alphabetically. Each section opens with the photographer’s biography, their website details and a link to order prints of their images. The pages that follow represent a selection of images from their current portfolio. These images include the title, location of shot and the camera used to capture the image. They hope this will help people delve a little deeper into the construction of the material.
