Contemporary German Artist Brings Colour To the greenhouse

Contemporary German artist Petra Scheibe Teplitz has filled the greenhouse with colour in our current exhibition Little Chapel.  Residing in Frankfurt, Petra found inspiration from our much loved and iconic Little Chapel in Les Vauxbelets and returned again and again to our island to draw and paint sections from the Little Chapel, before returning to her studio to create her larger final work.

The exhibition is made up of these original drawings plus a series of nine paintings.  Each being 120cm x 120cm square, these paintings are designed to be shown linked together (in series’ of three) and can all be joined together to create a larger nine panel work. The works are in acrylic and have a vibrancy which responds to the colourful tiles in the Little Chapel while playing somewhat with its’ scale.

The Little Chapel exhibition is open now in the greenhouse and will remain up until Monday 10 May.  Opening times of the greenhouse are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm and Saturday 9.00am to 1.00pm.  Admission is free. The exhibition received sponsorship from DHL Express.
