COMMUNITY ARTIST OPPORTUNITY

The Guernsey Arts Commission and Youth Commission are looking for individuals and groups to lead project led workshops for young people in 2021.

Get Creative has been running successfully for 3 years, with the aim to provide creative projects where young people can work with the artist to develop and create exciting projects with an agreed outcome.

These 2 hour weekly, each lasting between 6 and 10 weeks, typically aims to have between 10 and 20 young people attending. Ages and final group numbers are decided in conjunction with artists delivering on the programme.

The focus is on the young people working together and collaborating with an artist to develop a project they will be proud of. The end result is a celebration of their creativity and young people‚Äôs achievements.

Previous projects have included puppetry, a dramatic production, creating a board game and music production.

These projects have proven to provide a platform for young people to express their creativity, gain confidence, make new friends and discover new skills.

We are currently welcoming expressions of interest from individuals or organisations who would like to work a group of young people on a specific project. There is an agreed budget that will cover time and materials during projects.

If you have an idea for a project that is community focused, or would like to discuss this further, please contact Jade Kershaw, Community Arts Development Co-ordinator on [email protected] or 01481 709747.
