We would like to say a massive thank you for contributing to an amazing second annual Arts Sunday.
The day undeniably exceeded everyone’s expectations; from the huge amount of artists involved in each of the 10 main areas, to the local creative enterprises showcasing their works, to the St Peter Port officials and States staff who accommodated us so warmly, to the mass of restaurants across the seafront as well as the huge array of technical staff and heavy-lifters, all of you really made Arts Sunday what it was meant to be: a celebration of all that the arts community has to offer on our island.
We’ve received some truly great feedback from everyone. You may have seen some quotes across The Guernsey Press, The Globe, GBG and The Gallery magazines, Island FM , BBC Radio Guernsey along with various online spots and so on. Audiences really delivered in numbers and this reflected in the spirit of the performances and live art being created as well as the trade across the seafront for the 60+ arts market stalls.
I am sure you will agree, there was a great team spirit on the day and it was great to see so many people from across the island and Herm, pulling together to create a quite wonderful day.
Planning started back in January and we have had great support and an amazing amount of effort and time was generously given by a core group of GAC volunteers in preparing for the event, and ensuring the smooth running on the day massive thanks to you all.
No doubt many new networks have been made, and seeds for new ideas have been sown.
Here’s to a cracking one next year; even bigger, even better. If that’s possible…
If you have any comments or feedback of your own, we would love to hear from you to help shape next year’s event. You can email us at [email protected]
Thank you all!
