The Guernsey Arts Commission is set for another busy year in 2012 and one of the highlights will be the second annual Arts Sunday on St Peter Port Seafront on Sunday 17th June.
In 2011 Arts Sunday showcased a range of arts from performance and music to painting and poetry and this year we’ve made it even bigger!
We’d love everyone to join us on the town seafront for a festival of music and dance and celebration of Arts on the Island that Guernsey can offer!
The seafront is going to have a festival feel with everyone able to take their time and enjoy the exciting range of entertainment. There’s something for everyone from music, dance, theatre and street art and also alfresco dining in the many restaurants and bars.
There is a drama stage, a dance stage, an Arts Sunday Writer’s Fair including a poets corner, a massive demonstration of street art, and DJ’s. We will also have The Condor Stage on The Crown Pier showcasing all genres of music from acoustic to jazz from rock to street buskers and a separate acoustic stage on the seafront..
Arts Sunday is also going to be THE place to check out the “Arts Market” with a chance to take place in workshops and demonstrations from textile up-cycling and massage to cooking and chocolate! You’ll also be able to buy creations, arts and crafts and many more goodies from the huge variety of stalls!
Arts Sunday is once again being organised by the Guernsey Arts Commission’s Music and Performing Arts Sub-Committees. Russ Fossey who chairs the Music Sub-Committee, says: “We are keen to build on the success of last year’s Arts Sunday. There will be performance spaces, workshop areas and an Arts Market, this will give organisations the chance to showcase their skills, promote themselves or sell arts related products.”
Please feel free to come and join us and have a fun, relaxing Sunday…
