Guernsey Arts Commission’s Arts Sunday is this weekend on 5th June from 10am to 5pm along the Town seafront. This free event is the biggest seafront Sunday of the year and offers entertainment and activities for all ages. The day is set to look a little different this year with a move around of stages, the arts market looking to be the biggest to date and the Guernsey Arts Commission is offering some special activities this year, teaming up with local graffiti artists and the Makerspace team. The day will be also have the addition of Guernsey Photography Festival offering photo workshops, the Sandblasters group offering sand art activities and Vale Earth Fair’s 40th Anniversary exhibition close by in the Inner Market Buildings.
Simone Roberts, event organiser, said It’s set to be a brilliant event thanks to the community getting involved once again. It’s Guernsey Arts Commission’s biggest event of the year where we have the opportunity to engage with so many people and give all artists an opportunity to showcase their talent. The whole day makes you realise how lucky we are to have such talented people on the island and it’s only possible because of the community coming together. Arts Sunday gives people a chance to see just how many diverse things come under the term ‘arts’ and realise it’s a part of our daily life. Guernsey Arts Commission wants the arts to feel accessible to everyone. It’s a day definitely not to be missed.
