The Guernsey Arts Commission’s Community Arts Programme will be operating across the summer of 2013 with some exciting and engaging events taking place across the island.
An opportunity has arisen for individuals seeking to develop their creative and delivery skills in partnership with an established, UK based, Community Artist.
The successful candidates have an opportunity to be part (on a day by day basis) within the two weeks Road Trip. They will need to be a practitioner who is passionate about or interested in using the arts in community settings. You will be supporting the’ Lead Artist’ in workshop activities, engaging with a range of organisations and members of the general public and must be able to work with all ages and abilities.
The candidates will be expected to contribute to our summer social media campaign including daily blogging.
We will be working with a range of creative practices including photography, large scale murals and arts and crafts.
The post holders will also help us gather evaluation and feedback so that we can build these observations in to next year’s delivery.
As a representative of GAC you will follow our professional code of conduct and work in accordance with health and safety and Child Protection guidelines.
The candidate will be expected to undergo a police check.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of arts.
- Arts’ Practitioner
- Ability to work flexibly.
- Excellent social media and blogging skills: Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, etc.
- Proven ability to work in an organised manner, with a systematic approach and ability to juggle multiple tasks under pressure.
- Arts Graduate
- Some experience in Community Arts
Fee: Daily Rate of £75
