Guernsey born Ben Bailey is a photographer, visual storyteller and community artist with a passion for discovering and sharing stories. After a brief flirtation with Landscape architecture Ben studied Photography at Brighton University where his final graduation project was selected for the Fresh Faced and Wild Eyed 2008 exhibition at the Photographers Gallery, London.
Since returning to Guernsey Ben has been working as the General Manager for the Guernsey Photography Festival including curating several exhibitions. He is a part-time lecturer in Photography at Guernsey College of FE. He works with young people and other members of the community giving them the tools to express themselves through photography and helping them understand their relationship to their environment.
Ben will be exhibiting a participatory photography project ‘Where I live’ at the Gatehouse Gallery in October. This a community project supported by GAC working with young people on Les Genats Estate.
