Art on the Beach – What a day…
Despite the cold wind and rain, the people of Guernsey stood strong, armed with buckets, spades (and the odd fancy contraption) to show the beach what they were made of!
With over 150 there throughout the day, the beach became an octopus, fantasy islands, Aztec pyramids, mermaids, aeroplanes, Olympic inspired honours and more. Pierre ‘Lenny’ Lenfestey came down on the day demonstrating the drip castles that you may have heard him talk about on the radio, and everyone got involved in getting their hands dirty in the wet sand – quite a sight.
Eric Snell was joined by Lenny to view all the pieces of artwork and give their glowing comments. The Le Couteur Connection won the overall piece of the day with their work entitled ‘The Swimmer’ (photographs coming soon), with a special mention for Team Harry who created the ‘Fantasy Island’.
Full team list is below – and don’t forget to check out Channel TV for their coverage of the event! You might see your work on the television there!
Do also keep a look out for more photographs of all the pieces, coming soon.
