Additionally, there will be a number of artists working across Vazon Beach in pods. Each pod will be open to the public, inviting everyone to get involved in a variety of activities. Some of the activities include; beach yoga for children and adults (bring a towel to sit on) run by Lauren Brown, local artists Frances Lemmon and Bridget Spinney will be helping people to make beach inspired windmills and mobiles, Hugh Rose will be encouraging everyone to help him create a giant chalk doodle masterpiece on the sea wall,  as well as additional art workshops from the GAC team. We’re are also asking everyone to share photos of their creations and of the day using the hashtag #ArtOnTheBeachGSY.

This year the GAC’s Art on the Beach is also on the same day as Castle Cornet’s family day, Fete d-Etai. A link between the events has been put together to attract people to both events by involving performances of ‘Knight School’, telling the story of Owen of Wales in 1372, which details the invasion that began at Vazon and ended with a siege at Castle Cornet.  The Knights have devised fun and interactive performances for both Vazon and Castle Cornet. You can catch them at the Castle at 11am and Vazon at 1.30pm on the sea wall.  Children who visit both locations will be able to complete a special Knight Certificate, made especially for the day.

In the mean time, get your sand sculpture and sand castle ideas ready and look out on our social media for all the latest information for the event.
