2017 Lantern Making Workshops in Herm

2017 Lantern Making Workshops in Herm

We are really pleased to show this video taken, cut and edited by Marcel Lenormand, one of local artists working closely with the Guernsey Arts Commission. Having taken the boat over to Herm early in the morning, Marcel and Hugh Rose worked with the pupils of Herm School on feature lanterns, such as spring flowers and from the look of things they all have had lots of fun!

The theme of this year’s Guernsey Lantern Parade, in conjunction with The Sarah Groves Foundation is Spring.

Many really surprising and beautiful feature lantern designs are being created by the Bailiwick’s communities in the weeks leading to the parade. We are absolutely delighted that Sark will be also holding lantern making workshops, which will culminate in the first ever Sark Lantern Parade! #SarkLanternParade

Look out for pictures from our half-term lantern making workshops in future posts and on our social media! It is so wonderful to see communities joining together in preparations to the parade!

#GSYLanternParade will take place on 25th March 2017 starting from Sunken Gardens and culminating on Albert Pier. Lights up at 6:45 sharp! Don’t be the one who missed this amazing spectacle!
