10 of the Best, the latest exhibition in the greenhouse, the Guernsey Arts Commission’s dedicated project space in the Guernsey Information Centre, opened to the public on 9th September.
The exhibition’s opening night saw more than 200 people take a look around and meet some of the artists, who’s work spans visual media from paintings and illustration to photography and video.
Culture and Leisure Minister Mike O’Hara spoke at the opening and credited the Guernsey Arts Commission with giving young artists the opportunity to realise their potential.
The exhibition was curated by Justiene Boughey, the Commission’s Arts Development Assistant and a graduate in Art and Visual Culture, she said: “The exhibition has offered Guernsey students a chance to show display their work to a different audience and experience being involved in an exhibition outside the confines of their schools.”
The exhibition runs until Saturday 5th November at the greenhouse in the Guernsey Information Centre. the greenhouse is open 9-5 Monday to Saturday and 9-1 Sundays until 26th September and then 9-5 Monday to Friday and 9-1 Saturdays.
