Public Events

The community arts team work closely with GAC’s sub-committees and other agencies to put on a range of events throughout the year aimed at both residents and visitors.

Guernsey Arts Commission’s Lantern Parade

Throughout the dark winter months, children and young people have the chance to make a lantern leading up to the island’s Lantern Parade in March 2017. Lantern making workshops will run through February where families or individuals can make a lantern, more information will be release nearer the time.

Everyone is invited to join the lantern makers for a spectacular Lantern Parade in March 2017, date TBC.

Liberation Day

The community arts team provide arts activities for people to enjoy during Liberation Day on 9th May.

Arts Sunday

The seafront in St Peter Port comes alive on Arts Sunday, always taking place on the first weekend in June, with music, dance, film and arts activities for all ages.

Now in its sixth year, artists and arts organisations from across the Bailiwick are invited to showcase their work and encourage people to take part.  In 2016 more than 11,500 people attended!

Art on the Beach

This event invites residents and visitors to join a fun and interactive day of arts on the beach at Vazon. The sandcastle and sand sculpture competition always proves to be very popular!
