In the greenhouse:
Post-Christmas
It may now be the new year, but you still have a chance to explore Guernsey's Christmas stamps from 1970 to the present day in
Post-Christmas. The exhibition is on at the greenhouse until the end of January.
Dictating the Style
Our next exhibition promises to bring something different to
the greenhouse once again as we take a look through the theatre
designs of Guernsey resident Reverend Maurice Strike.
Dictating the Style opens on 17th February and you are invited to the Private View on Thursday 16th February from 17:30-19:00 to see original designs made across more than 25 years in the theatre.

Meet the Director!
Scriptwriting workshop and film screening
On Saturday 28th January award winning filmmaker and writer Avie Luthra will be leading a workshop and presenting a screening of his debut feature film, Lucky.
The daytime workshop will give you a chance to get some hints and tips, from Avie, on writing for both TV and the movies.
In the evening there will be a screening of Lucky, in association with CineGuernsey, at the Performing Arts Centre.
As well as Lucky, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, Avie has worked on various TV programmes and films,
including the BBC's re-imagining of The Canterbury Tales, and won the Best Short Film BAFTA in 2006.
The workshop costs £25 (£15 for students), if you want to take part please contact tom@arts.gg - places are strictly limited.
Tickets for the screening are available from guernseytickets.gg
Lucky tells the story of a ten-year-old South African orphan who leaves his Zulu village to make his own
life in the city, only to find no one will help him, except a formidable Indian woman called Padma.

Arts Sunday Returns!
On 17th June 2011 we will once again be taking over the seafront in St Peter Port to show just how much the arts have to offer in Guernsey.
If you are an artist, or a member of an arts
organisation and would like to get involved either by having a table in the Arts Market or by performing or running a workshop we'd love to hear from you.
Please email Tom Girard on tom@arts.gg or give him a ring on 709748 to find out more and help us show how the arts are such a big part of island life.

Musical Instruments for Le Platon
The Community Arts and Music Sub-Committees need your help.
As part of the ongoing Community Arts Programme we are working to take the arts into residential homes and our volunteers at Le Platon have realised that the residents really enjoy getting involved with music.
So if anyone has any basic percussion instruments, tambourines, maracas, shakers, bongo’s, etc, that they’d be willing to donate to the programme please email Russ Fossey on russ@arts.gg
