Goldsworthy is currently working on a large scale project in Alderney entitled
Alderney Stones which will reach completion in May 2011. This exhibition is a collection of 33 of his drawings relating to this project. These fascinating
drawings are made using the clay found in Alderney.
The Andy Goldsworthy Exhibition of Drawings will be open from Friday 11th June until Monday 5th July

2nd Art & Islands and 6th International Small Islands Conference
Wednesday 23th - Friday 25th June, Castle Cornet
In 2 weeks, delegates from around the world will descend on Guernsey to attend the 2nd Art & Islands Conference at Castle Cornet which runs from 23rd June until 25th June. And you have the chance to join them whether you are academically or
professionally involved in the arts or not. The Conference is an extremely unique opportunity to look at the importance of small island cultures and how they can
affect and be instrumental in social change.
Talks will be delivered by speakers from all over the world on subjects relating to the Culture of Small Islands. There will also be an opportunity to listen to some of the industry's leading professionals, including Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the Royal Society of Arts and former Advisor on Political Strategy to the Prime Minister, Tony Blair. Graham Daldry, Creative Director of Specsavers Optical Group and Eric Snell, Director of the International Artists in Residence Programme. Hosted at Castle Cornet papers will also include local archeology, a session on
language and information on Guernsey's Roman Ship.

Creative Networking 2: Collaborations in the Arts - Thursday 17th June
The GAC Creative Networking seminars are a great new opportunity for people
passionate about the arts to get together and talk about relevant topics, whilst also
being inspired by guest speakers. With the added benefit of chilling out, having a drink and meeting a whole host of new people!
Our second creative networking event will take place on Thursday 17th June from 5.30pm in the Cambridge Room at Beau Sejour. We will be joined by Rachel Cleal, a
local director who will present one of her films, this will lead into a discussion about
collaborations within the arts in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

The Chair of the Guernsey Arts Commission, Tony Gallienne, is giving a talk on The Arts and the Impact of Creativity on Wealth
Generation for the Institute of Directors on Friday 18th June. We have a small allocation of tickets (on a first come, first serve basis) which are available from the Arts Development Team info@arts.gg for the price of £10 (which
includes lunch). The venue is Moore’s Hotel and the event starts at 12.30pm and finishes with a Q&0A at 2.00pm.

Free Arts Summer Workshop Programme
The Guernsey Arts Commission will be running a three week programme from Monday 26th July – Friday 20th August for children aged 6 – 14 in age appropriate groups. We will be exploring Dance, Drama and Puppetry in weeklong projects with our team of experienced workshop leaders.
The morning sessions will cater for 6 – 10 year olds between 09.00 – 12.00. The afternoon sessions will be aimed at
11 – 14 year olds between 13.00 – 16.00.
