The Music Sub-Committee of the Guernsey Arts Commission is holding a special, day long event, sponsored by NatWest, on Sunday October 23rd for local songwriters with professional songwriter and producer, Tim Bran.
The day long songwriting workshop and master class will give 20 local songwriters and musicians the chance to get together and craft a set of songs which will performed that evening, all the while gaining an insight into the craft from Tim Bran, and his Guernsey based song writing partners Jim Delbridge and Nick Windsor.
The day will begin at 10 with a look at approaches to songwriting from Tim, Jim and Nick followed by the participants breaking off into smaller groups to write a song with Tim, Jim and Nick offering assistance, guidance and advice on the process. The day will end with a performance of the newly written songs.
Participants are invited to bring along their own acoustic instruments to write with.
The day costs £20 including lunch, and runs from 10am until approximately 6:30pm and will take place at Blanchelande College.
